TRACKER MOTOR MOUNTS

REPLACEMENT
1. Disconnect the negative side battery cable from the battery, then rais the vehicle, and support it securly on jackstands.
2. Using the jack, and a block of wood, and position under bell housing, place block between jack and housing.
3. Carefully raise the engine just enough to take the weight off the mounts.  DO NOT PLACE ANY PART OF YOUR
BODY UNDER THE ENGINE WHEN IT IS SUPPORTED BY A JACK ONLY!
4. Remove the mount-to engine bracket nut, and detach the mount from frame backet.
5. Raise the engine slightly (do not let the fan hit the shroud) and remove the the mount-to-engine braacket nut, and
    detach the mount.
6. (OPTIONAL) Use a rubber perservative, and apply it to the mounts to slow deterioration.
7. Replace the mounts.  Installation is opposite of removal.  Use thread compound on the mount bolts and be sure to
    tighten them crefully.

TRANSMISSION MOUNT (AUTO)
Use the same instructions as above, except with the transmission mount.   As of 1/25/2000, the TRANS MOUNT is a DEALER item only, and can not be found in a parts store.  The parts store will have to order it from the dealer, so you might as well.  Should cost you around $50.00 (Retailer cost is $33.00).  Replacement is easy to figure out once you have done the motor mounts.

Locate the trans. mount under the vehice, and loosen the nut.  Once the nut is out, I guess, then jack the trans up by the bell housing and remove the mount.  Place the new one in, and lower the trans back to the mount mating surface.  Then, put the bolt back in, hand tighten, and completely lower the transmission.  Now you can full tighten the mount.

Make sure you get the right mount!!
