REMOVING YOUR DOORS

Before you remove your doors, please check with your state laws to see if you are permitted to drive without them.
Since the vehicle is considered a Jeep, but more like a Light Duty Truck, you may be allowed to drive without doors like other REAL Jeep owners.

The state police's major concern is that you are wearing your seatbelts while driving with the doors off.  YOu must also have the standard shoulder-strap belts.  Be aware, thet even with a Jeep, if you are caught driving doorless, without seatbelts, they will do one or more of the following (At least in the state of Pennsylvania).

1. You will be fined for not wearing the seatbelts.
2. You will made to install the doors, and be on your way.
3. If you do not have the doors with you, the vehicle will be impounded.
4. 1 and 2
5. All of the above.

The easiest way is to simply knock out the pin in the door open limit arm, then pound out the main door pins, and remove the doors.

Each door weighs approximately 45-60 pounds, depending upon the options (power windows, locks, mirrors).  Needless to say, you won't be carrying the doors with you, so wear your seatbelts.

A simpler way is being developed so they are easily removed, and replaced.  When this optionis completed, it will be posted.
